Day #9- Gardening and Freezing Pesto

Did you do a project? Bam!

Did you complete it? started and ended on the 12th yes

What did you learn? You really need to make sure the lid clicks into place for food processors to work. This had some simple instructions, but man was it time consuming; especially sorting the good leaves out.  My sister is a great writer with a sense of humor. The iPhone video is limited. You can't switch between selfie and camera mode once it starts filming. You also can't switch between vertical and horizontal.

What did you learn about yourself? I bought a food processor for this project. My Jedi light saber skills need work--I broke most of plants with my first swing (Katina instructed "Swing the plant around violently to try to get as much water as possible off of the leaves. seriously--pretend you're a Jedi need work.") I'm ok killing plants now.

How do you feel about the project? This one didn't feel too creative, more like Susie-Homemaker project. I enjoyed talking about the plants, and I am looking forward to next year's planting season.

  1. Definitely use that basil! I think this is a great idea to make those little flavor cubes. I might do this with Hannah sometime. We can get fresh basil from the store and try our hand at it. I wish we had a little garden place that we could grow some of our own. We might be able to do that next year. We'll have a balcony that gets good sunlight so we could potentially have a small garden. And then we'll be rocking some home made pesto! Lovely garden, Dani. <3
